AUDIOSLAVE Bassist Says Recording New Album Was A 'Revelation'
July 25, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: AUDIOSLAVE began recording its upcoming third album, "Revelations", almost as soon as it came off the road last winter after touring behind 2005's "Out of Exile". Bassist Tim Commerford told Launch he was initially uncertain about heading into the studio so quickly, but would love to work that way again. "I'm pretty fearless after this whole thing, because I really felt like, 'I don't think we have enough ideas to warrant going into the studio' — that's how I kind of felt going into this," he said. "And then we did it, and I'm really happy with the record and how it came out and the songs and all that, and yeah, I would love to keep that whole vibe happening and keep that going."
"Revelations" comes out on September 5, with the first single, "Original Fire", at radio stations now.
AUDIOSLAVE has yet to announce tour plans in support of the album.
A report surfaced online last week that AUDIOSLAVE vocalist Chris Cornell has been tapped to write and sing the theme song for the next James Bond film, "Casino Royale", due out this November. AUDIOSLAVE's record label had no information on Cornell's reported involvement.
Two new tunes from "Revelations" can be heard in the new crime thriller "Miami Vice", which arrives this Friday (July 28).
